Five months after unveiling OnePlus 5, the company has launched its successor and ungraded variant OnePlus 5T. The phone is more or less along the lines of what we have been hearing the rumours. Most sticking features of the new flagship are its all-screen front with minimal bezels. Other key highlights of the phone include an improved dual camera setup, facial recognition and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. As per the company, its unique facial recognition technique is backed by its ability to utilize 100 facial features the securely unlock the phone.
Design wise, the OnePlus 5T boasts a unibody metal design with U shape antenna lines at the top and bottom edges just like its predecessor. OnePlus continues to offer a 3.5mm headphone jack. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus 5T houses a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and a 401ppi pixel density. OnePlus is using a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 on top of the display to protect it from minor accidental scratches.
To powerlift most tasks, the OnePlus is using a 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with Adreno 540 GPU. Like the predecessor, it too comes in two versions: 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM and 8GB RAM with 128GB ROM. The phone will be running on latest OxygenOS which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
On the photography front, the OnePlus 5T comes with a 16MP primary camera ( Sony IMX 398 sensor) coupled with a 20MP secondary camera ( Sony IMX 376K sensor) . Both cameras of the dual setup feature aperture of f/1.7 which will improve low light performance over its predecessor. However, the OnePlus 5 had a telephoto lens which offered 2X optical zoom which is sadly not on offer in the OntPlus 5T.
OnePlus 5T India price and offers
The OnePlus 5T price in India will be same as OnePlus 5. The 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM variant will cost Rs. 32, 999 while 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant will retail in India for Rs. 37, 999. As for the launch offer, Idea is offering 1, 008GB of data to all buyers on the OnePlus 5T. The phone will go on sale from December 2 on Amazon.in. Prime users will be able to buy OnePlus 5T in an early access sale on November 21 at 4: 30 pm. OnePlus has teamed up with HDFC Bank to offer an instant cashback of Rs 1, 500 bank credit and debit card users on buying OnePlus 5T.
