Complaint for Onida TV (43UIB)

This is to complain about the below:


BRAND NAME: Onida


PRODUCT: Television


PRODUCT CODE: 43UIB


SERIAL NUMBER: 18D04#000168


DATE OF PURCHASE: 27th May 2018


1st Complaint filed on 5th March 2019(within the warranty period)


REQUEST: PANEL REPLACEMENT


LOCATION: Faridabad 121002


VENDOR(item purchased from): Vijay Sales, Mathura Road, Faridabad


This is to inform you that we had filed a complaint regarding carbon formation first on 5th March 2019 and requested for a technician to visit. The technician visited after 2 weeks and said that the panel needs to be replaced and that is when the whole issue started.


We have been following up since that day to this day but the issue has not been resolved and has filed multiple complaints since then.


5th March 2019 - Complaint no - 1903J776380018 - Status not clear to us.


8th May 2019 - Complaint no - 1905J776380041 - Filed complaint again


13th May 2019 - Filed another complaint


23rd May 2019 - Status update - Will work further as there was no update on the complaint.


26th June 2019 - the complaint filed on 8th May was closed saying "Panel Replacement Request is Pending"


7th Sept 2019 - updated that the "Panel Replacement Request is still Pending"


18th September 2019 - Complaint no - 1909L27630055 - We were introduced to Mr Pankaj Dhiman, who mentioned that the unit will be replaced within 3 days.


25th September 2019 - We received a call from Onida, checking if our complaint was sorted, We mentioned, that we will file a complained to consumer court. Further, the number was stated switched off on our followup and was no update given to us.


September 2019 we received a call, mentioning that the panel request has been approved.


We were following up with Mr Pankaj Dhiman(Number-+919136916585/+918168481775) throughout October and November for the followup and he kept mentioning that there was a delay from the backend i.e from Mumbai. There was another technician visit who said that there is no need of the panel to be replaced. It was just dust formation and the current panel needs to be cleaned. We then had a word with Mr Pankaj multiple times and we kept requesting him for the same. His statement was that he had other clients to be taken care as well, which we felt was very rude.


We received a call from Mr Nileash(Number+91 9136916425) asking if the issue was resolved. We updated him the situation and he assured us that the issue will be resolved within 3 days and the TV will be picked up from our place by an executive either the same day or the next day.(Mr Pankaj was at the conference during this conversation) But again there was no valid action taken the TV was not picked till we again called Mr Pankaj for the same. The TV was picked 1 week later and was supposed to be returned after 3 days.


We called Mr Nilesh again on 26th November reminding him for the issue updated him that the TV was picked up and has not been returned as of now. He said he will get back to us but there is no revert till date. The last conversation we had with Mr Pankaj was on 29th November(Evening) where he mentioned that his grandmother passed away, hence there will be a delay of 1 week. We further cooperated in the situation and waited for a week. He also mentioned that the cleaning of the panel was not possible, hence the has requested for the panel. To which we replied that the panel request was already been approved in September 2019.


2nd December, we received a call(on 9811955082) saying that the panel has arrived for replacement and the executive wanted to visit our address to do the needful. We informed the executive that the TV was with Mr Pankaj and not with us. We called Mr, Pankaj on 4th December asking him for an updated and he clearly had no idea about the panel.


Today is more than a week again and there is no update on our product. My wife called Mr Nileash again today asking for an update, yet again we are in the middle of nowhere and finally filed a complained a complaint against Onida in the consumer forum of India.


We have been humiliated a lot for a very long time and for a very small issue and I do not think that Onida has lived up to its reputation as a brand. We demand a compension for all the issue that we have faced.


I hope that this will be taken seriously this time.
