I bought Onida microwave Black Beauty PC21 in Oct 2008. Our main criteria was looks and features! How stupid I was that time! Well after I purchased, the Onida guys did not even come for Demo!
I thought that’s fine, it’s easy to use, and we managed. It worked well for more than a year. We were very happy with it. Then started the problem. 1st, the fancy display unit started flickering, and it used to take time to start. We managed somehow, then it started flickering continuously for a long time.
So microwave was not usable. Then we called the Onida service guys, he told it’s a common problem with this model. He just told us we can go for circuit board replacement which would cost around 2K. We somehow found a trick to make it work when it flickers, i.e holding any key for sometime.
That’s how we managed for a year. Now it has completely stopped working. When I tried to raise a complaint, neither the online complaint in Onida website is working, nor are the phone lines.
So better choose good brands like LG, Samsung, etc instead of going for Onida.
Update: Jan 4th 2012.
Finally got the service guys contact, they replaced the Circuit Board with 2 years warranty for Rs 2200. All izz Well now!
