Review : in our family we have a trdition that we buy something new on new year... so on this year there was nothing in our mind to but.. suddenlt I saw a add in newspaper that onida dvd for 6000/- n without thinking.. we went for it, just before buying we checked other DVDz, compared the prices,
But now as I have used my DVD for atleast 4-5 months... n have seen n played with all other available DVD players who many of my friends are having.. I have come up with following observation...
1] No one offers a DVD so cheap as onida.. its just 6000/-!!
2] It is printed on it that it will run region 5 dvdz, as far I have checked it with region 3, 4, 5 , all, and those worked best, I dont know if it is open region why they have mentioned only region 5.
3] Amazing thing is it has got a 5.1 surround sound output [ with sub wooooofer] !!.. which even philips dont offer!!!.. sony has got this
4] It has got all major controls on the pannel also.. if if u fail to find ur remote, u can control it all as a VCR by the pannel buttons... philips or aiwa or other playes dont have a single control button on pannel.. so if even battry goes off ur remote... u cant even take out the DVD.. sad na ?
5] And that to just in 6000/- !! but.... it has got a very old style look... has got real bad looks maan... philips rocks in looks...
Remote menu n operation is little complicated.. may be traditional indian house wife will never be able to watch a DVD on her own !!!!! hehehe
And the BEST thing about it!!!!.. it runs everything... I means it... scarched DVDz... VCDz... junk... old... wornout CDz... even computer vedio.. mpeg.. mp3.... svcd... jpg cd... u name it , onida plays it... I have tried a old cd of mine.. which not a single computer dvd or cd drive can play... but... onida worked!! ... even I guess philips also has got same reputation.. it runs anything... overall..
Onida dvd is real value for money... go for it
