I recently purchased an 29’’ Onida KY theatre, and I would advise those seriously desirous of a ’’home-theatre’’ to reject this product. The Onida site boasts of deriving 5.1 output from normal TV input. All that is nonsense !!! The speakers just boost the same audio, there’s no 5.1 effect. The 10 speaker system is a hoax. All you get is two speakers.
The other speakers are the one on the TV. Moreover even the speaker system is not 5.1. At best, these can be used as stereo speakers (right and left). The TV is an obsolete one, doesnot have DVD component input nor progressive scan. The DVD player and TV have to be connected using RCA connectors, the worst possible option to connect the two.
I guess that’s why Onida hasn’t dare to put the technical specs of this system on the site, rather they have used their own flattery language for this piece. If you are still interested in getting this piece wait for a few months. This product may be upgraded as, for now, it looks to be behind its time.
