Just one year back, I purchase a Phillips home theater from India Today Book Club and they offered free PhillipsDVD Player, Bonton wrist watch and holiday voucher. When I received the product, I found that the home theater is without remote, which is must now-a-days. The real trouble started when I tried to redeem the holiday voucher. After making n number of calls, I received a list of destinations and asked to choose three destinations with three different dates.
That means, I have to buy reserved tickets for three destinations of three different dates and as soon as the destination is finalized, I need to cancel remaining tickets. I know these terms and conditions are associated with these types of holiday voucher and that’s why at the time of purchasing, I told the customer care executive about this and expressed my desire not to purchase the product. But I was assured that these strings are not attached with this holiday vouche.
Finally, I put the things in the garbage and promised not to buy anything from India Today Book Club.
