We have been watching films made on girls who are bar dancers but now there is a twist.We have a film called Oops!, which has a very bold script and that is about male strippers!So this sounds interesting, doesn`t it?Bollywood is getting different day by day, where Parivaar or Pyaar, films are not found attractive anymore, but then what is something GREAT about OOPS!?Nothing much!WHY.Well, read the review!
THE FILM:
OOPS!, directed by Deepak Tijori, stars releatively newcomers, and not the usual Bollywood stars!The performers/actors are Kiran Jinjani, Vikas Sethi, Mita Vashisht, Mink Singh, Kiran Kumar and Adyasha!This was an awaited film, mainly because of its different subject.One would go to see this film, with expectations, that it will be something GREAT, but it will give you a disappointment!
THE CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES:
1.Jahaan(Kiran Jinjani):Jahaan, belongs to a middle class family, who has dreams of becoming famous plus rich!Everything is not so easy in life!This person was a dancer as an extra in films, but when he got an offer to perform strip tease, he without hesitating, accepted this job!There is a change in his life, when an elder lady Sharon, comes to him as a client!Kiran Jinjani as a debutant, impresses but needs to work a little on his face expressions!His dialogue delivery is nice, but face, at times expressionless, but never mind, because he has the potential of becoming an excellent performer.It will take sometime!
2.Aakash(Vikas Sethi):Akaash, belongs to a richer family than Jahaan.Jahaan is his friend, and he used to dance as an extra in films!He didn`t agree to perform strip-tease but then agreed, after sometime!He doesn`t like it all, and so leaves this job!Vikas Sethi, has already appeared in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Deewaanapan, but this is his first film, in which he has given alot of scope to perform, and he does full justice to his role!He needs to wrok a bit on his face expressions, still he is a nice performer!
3.Nikki(Adyasha):Adyasha, loves Jahaan, and agrees to do whatever he say!She was also a background filmi dancer but now no more!Adyasha, is not so impressive, and does not leave enough of an impression!
4.Sonia(Mink Singh):Sonia is a filmstar, who tells Jahaan about the job of strip-tease!Mink Singh, is not so likeable in a role, which doesn`t give her enough scope to perform!Also, I don`t like her much!Don`t find her attractive, at all!
5.Sharon(Mita Vashisht):Sharon, is an open-minded 40 year old lady!She goes to a club, and finds Jahaan performing strip-tease!She becomes, Jahaan`s client but when her identity is disclosed, infront of Jahaan, he is left shocked and also when she comes to know about Jahaan, she is left shocked!Mita Vashisht is a serious and a strong performer!She has already acted in many films like Dil Se or Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, and here also she impresses, giving an excellent performance!
Kiran Kumar, is his usual-self, in a not-so-important role!
THE STORY:
Jahaan, belongs to a middle class background, and wants to be rich.He, Akaash and Nikki were background filmi dancers, but his life changes when Soniya tells him about strip-tease!He accepts this job and after insisting so much, his friend Akaash also agrees to do so, but soon leaves the job!One night, a woman called Sharon comes there and is attracted to this guy but soon both Sharon and Jahaan, come to know about one fact!Then, there is a TWIST!What is it?
THE WORK OF THE CREW:
Deepak Tijori`s direction is not upto the mark!Some scenes are handled well, while rest of them are boring!Like one interesting scene is where Sharon, is introduced in the film!Screenplay is very poor because the film seriously loses its grip!Editing is weak and the film is dragged unnecessarily!Thomas A Xavier`s cinematography is superb!Dialogues are not impressive!So, with an excellent script, attractive storyline this film falled short of expectations, because it was not treated so well, as much as it could have been!
ON THE WHOLE:
OOPS!, is an ordinary fare, which will leave you disappointed!The story is attractive, but that`s it!There is nothing more to it and that is why this film can easily be missed!
