I and my parents visited Ooty recently. From Chennai to Coimbatore we travelled through train and from Coimbatore to Ooty by taxi. We have stayed in a guest house of my family friend which has excellent ambience.
On the first day we visited Ooty Lake where we went for boating. We visited botanical garden which has covered large area with plants and flowers. We have sat and relaxed in the grass area which is situated center of the botanical garden. We had food in Pankaj Bhojanalaya Restaurant in Charing Cross. The restaurant provides freshly made food, reasonable rates with affable service.
On second day we had visited Dotabetta peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgris district. In the middle of the peak, there is a telescope house which contain long and short telescope that provides view over the Ooty area and surrounding forest. We have gone early in the morning to avoid crowd in the afternoon.
Overall, I recommend every one to visit Ooty to have a peaceful and lovely natural environment.
