Review: I am writing this article to give my opinion on Opel Corsa that I purchased a few months back. I have driven extensively in the city of Delhi for the past 20 odd years and I think I am experienced enough to be writing about cars .
I have also done extensive driving in the hills of north east India, Kulu manali, uttranchal and U.P. I must have driven above three lac kms till date... The problem with Indian car buyers is that they buy cars for the wrong reasons and this is mainly due to the misinformation passed on to them thru the media and thru word of mouth. Every car available in the market has its own plus point?s n negative points.
I bought the corsa for the following reasons:
1.Safety. It is a very safe car loaded with safety features and I have crashed it at a high speed without much damage to the car or to myself... I still thank god that I was driving this car.
Three box car. Wanted a three box car so that I could stuff it with lots of luggage for my outstation trips...
Price... reasonably priced and small enuf to drive in a congested city like delhi...since it will be self driven , size of car was very important.. Finding parking space is easier with a smaller car... We tend to give too much importance to mileage... pl dont decide on a car just bcos it gives u a slightly better average... imagine if I had gone for a tata indigo or some other car and had a crash ..Instead... drive less drive sensibly... its like buying a helmet there r cheap ones which dont offer much protection but they still sell so many pieces of them ..
Performance is not hot... definitely not in the ford ikon class but it is adequate for my needs ... maybe the ikon is as safe but I dont like its looks... Before u buy a car weigh ur options and decide urself.. Maruti 800 sells not because it is a good car but because there is no choice for that price range... there are lots of cars in the market... am sure one is for you !!!
