Well, well yes I bought an Opel Corsa 1.6 GLS Limited Edition...alright! Wasnt too sure when I stepped into GM showroom (ofcourse after being given shoddy treatment by untrained/uncouth Tata Motors saleswoman.. BTW I was intersted in Indigo LX). But then it all changed after I took Corsa for a test spin.
Acceleration: too good
Handling: great
Braking: flawless/smooth
Interiors: Biege...i like it (wouldve prefered leather :) )
Pricing: perfect for the package....and I HAVE A SUNROOF
Its been 2 days since I have this car and clocked more than 500Kms in less that 48 hours.
Took it for a spin on Bangalore-Mysore highway yesterday. I was impressed with what I bought...good value for money. Come on what more do you expect for 6 Lacs. It was a nice cool cloudy day and I was driving with my sunroof open :)
I didnt go more that 110KM/HR coz my I was advised not to do more than 2500-3000 rpms for the first few hundred kilometers.
Gives me a feel of a small car with handling and performance of a big one. Not as roomy as Accent but then its not that slow/laggard either. But then getting in and out of the car is a problem as I am 6ft 2in. I was impressed with the safety features as well.
As far as the mileage goes...I heard people getting 14kmpl on highways...but I dont care. Burn the last litre of petrol on this planet, its never gonna last forever anyways.
Wasnt too impressed with the audio. I am buying a 6.5 Lac car...for Gods sake why doesnt GM give a CD system (anyone in GM listening??). Blaupunkt 620 which came with the package is a good one, with loads of features like volume increases/decreases with the speed of the car. With a little bit of wiring I can have my cellphone plugged in and can use speakes...total handsfree. I wanted to go in for a CD changer, but then the compatible 5 CD changer comes for a whooping 27, 000!!! Thats what the dealer told me.
