This is the first time I am ever writing a review about anything. But, again reading others review and a new owner to a second hand Opel Corsa 1.6 pushed me to go ahead with writing it and here it goes...
This Opel Corsa 1.6 is like a mean machine. Although its 8 yrs old and has ran 50000 kms; It talks to the people who drive. I like to drive it fast and my bro likes to cruise it slow and it responds the way you want to drive without giving a trouble.
The suspension is beautifully crafted for Indian roads and it takes on the bumps with style. I have yet to take it on a highway but the way it handles the city traffic and city roads I can assume how it would be on a highway. I have driven across quite a few cars and of them I feel being alive when I am inside the Corsa 1.6. I can feel the robustness of the car in myself as the body of the car gives me a sense of security when I drive it.
I get an avg. of 11/12 Kmpl on city roads on AC which is assume is far by standards of any other car given the kind of weight it carries across. The interiors and steering is well crafted and does not feel like driving a mid size car. I own and drive small cars given the kind of traffic congestion on Delhi roads; but this car does not let me feel that way. Even on high speeds it sticks to the roads as if I am driving a magnet and the roads are made of steel.
It’s surely the best of German Engg. but I believe that GM did the biggest of all mistakes by pulling back this car. I am not sure of the spares and the service but even if you own a Maruti you would understand the cost of spares and service. Service for Maruti Alto for every 10000 kms does not cost you less than 7-8K every quarter and for a person who travels appox. 80 kms a day
So, speaking mathematically you would be shelling out the same cost approx. irrespective of the car that you own and I would prefer to shell out that 7K+ on Corsa 1.6 than on Maruti Alto which is just half of Corsa’s engine and space capacity and just a little more fuel efficient. At the end if I have to write a jist about it; I am proud to own a Corsa 1.6 and would recommend any one who wants to buy it…. Just a small check of caution that it should not be severely damaged…
PS: Do Not Mind the Dealer Satisfaction as it was bought directly from an owner and not a dealer...
