My Corsa

Before I start, it is actually a Vauxhall Corsa Sport (English version).

I am on my 3rd Corsa in 4 years. I wanted one newer and more powerful. The one I have got now is a Sport 1.4L 16V. I got it in September 2000 (brand new) and it cost me £12, 000 with 2 years free insurance. This model is no longer made, the equivalent is the Corsa SRi.

All the items I list come as standard on this model. It’s got sports seats, which I find very comfy, a rear spoiler and sports exhaust. 3-spoke alloy wheels which have locking nuts for security. Other security features include an immobiliser, alarm and central deadlocking. It’s got a sports suspension and there is a drivers airbag.

It’s got power steering (as most new cars have now), a CD player, air-conditioning, electric windows and electric door mirrors. I like the air-conditioning especially with the warm weather we have in the summer. Also I like the electric windows, they are much easier to use than manual ones. The only problem with air-con is that it uses more petrol (uses more power), so I have the windows open on short journeys. The CD player is another plus for me, as I don’t own any cassettes.

Inside the car there is quite a lot of room, and the front seats have loads of movement (the seats move up & down as well as forward & back) for small (which I am) and tall people.

The 1389cc engine makes it quite powerful, strong acceleration and very nippy (about 90 bhp) for a small car. The 16V engine means you get the best out of it, without high fuel consumption. It is smooth and quiet all the time. It goes from 0-60 in about 12 seconds and a top speed of 112mph

Although this car is quite expensive, I find it well worth it’s money, especially with the 2 years free insurance. I am well satisfied with my car.
