I recently bought a 3 year old Vectra and have been quite impressed with the set of features that this car has and the performance of the car as well. I was contemplating buying a new car - either the new Maruti SX4 or the Hyundai Verna when I came across this beauty and instantly fell in love with it. Its a D segment car so it wouldnt be fair to compare it with the SX4 or the Verna but let me give a list of the key features/specs that led to my decision -
Performance - 2.2 litre Ecotec engine - extremely refined, very silent and quite capable, especially in the 2000+ RPM range (145 BHP)
Unmatched safety features - ABS, 4 airbags, traction control, ESP, fall-away pedals, intelligent driving system (IDS) which can cut speed if you enter a corner too fast. Anything that you will ever require to avoid an accident and keep you safe in case of an accident.
Quality of interiors - top of the line, no cheap, plasticky feel that you get in other cars
Gadgetry - This was the clincher for me - Bose audio system with cassette, cd player and tuner, audio controls on the steering wheel, parking sensors, computerized information display system which gives you fuel efficiency, range, temperature, tyre air pressure, all sorts of information that you can think of!
Comfort - 8 way adjustable seats, rear AC vents, individual climate control for driver and passenger.
Style - 16 inch Opel alloys, stylish chrome on the front and rear, radical tail lamps - this car is a looker for sure.
I just love the park-assist function. The car starts beeping if you get too close to any object either in forward or reverse gear which is a great help when parking in tight spots. The beeps keep getting louder as you keep getting closer to the object.
Its rock solid on the highways and has a top speed of 208 kmph.
Its rare to see this car on the road and it attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes.
