I like to introduce a product that should be in mouthshut.com already years before. but I placed a request in mouthpad and got it posted yesterday 18th feb 2008. So I am happy about my second mouthpad request got considered.
Okie!!!! lets come to the product. The product is Openoffice a free office suite compatible with Microosft Office. Open office is from Sun microsystems who invented Java and who is also the creator of Star office suite. best part Open office is Free. any one can download and use it under GPL licence.
For people who dont know what is office suite?. it is a collection of computer software that will help you to do your all day office jobs like word processing, calculation, spread sheet, data base, and presentation jobs easily. Worlds most favourite office software is Microsoft office. the latest version is 2007. Open office, star office, abiword etc comes next.
If you have a program called Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint on your computer you have a office suite.
why open office?. because it is free. microsoft office suite will cost you Rs 16000/- Per computer. if you have 10 computers you need to buy 10 licence. that is 16000 * 10 = 160000

This office suite is excellent product friends. if you love to work at your office and need to save some money from buying MS Office 2007, 2003 (Costs around 16, 000 RS). use open office instead of ms office.
Most of we indians use Pirated version of MS Office. we dont know the impact of piracy and its legal side. Piracy is a crime. Hence start using Free software like open office. if you have enough money to but a software costs 16000 for each single computer go for MS Office.
