Opus - Palace road(Close to Mt Carmel)
We came to know about Opus from the fact that it organises a Quiz on thursday evenings and the winner has the bill on the house. We had been planning to be at Opus on a thursday evening but the distance was a consant deterrent. And a thursday evening, booze late on a thu evening and be late and high headed in office the next day wont be great.
They have a huge screen which shows IPL matches i.e. if you are sitting in the central open area. Not visible from anywhere else. You would need to be in the central area to have more fun while quizzing as well. The quiz master promises a whisky bottle to the happiest table and would ask you to make noise from time to time. They have also started giving 4 beer bottles for tables scoring more than 25 on the quiz.
Our first time at Opus was really rocking. We could not believe when we found most girls standing on their chairs and started shaking their booties. The crowd was truly amazing. The best I had ever seen in Bangalore. The crowd is mostly a mix of individuals from quizzing intellects, professionals, students, couples, all gal gangs, foreigners etc. We also danced around our table and could not resist being noticed over the place as drunk dancers.
The food is not very good but we love the Aloo and chicken stuffed parathas. A thai crispy chicken starter is the best we tried till date and most cocktails would hit you good.
In all I love this place, the quizzing, dancing and the crowd makes it really worth. I have started being a regular here and visit it atleast one thursday in 3-4 weeks though the bill wont be anything less than 5000 for 3. You can manage the bill with in 500 with just a starter and a beer for a single person. They also have happy hours every day from afternoon 12 to evening 7.30.
