Orange - Service & Customer Service Centre

I have been using Orange since 8 Months now. Initial 2 Months the service was excellent. Suddenly the problem started creaping in the system. I used to get the calls during 1st 2 months without any problem without any fail. Then the Orange started new services where they deteriorated their service and started sending SMS that you have missed call during blah blah time, send sms to 303 to check who called.


I called them up to figure out what has gone wrong.. They said they have launched new service which sends sms if you missed a call. Why would I miss a call? Because of Traffic congestion / or that you are on other call. But I was not on other call and the friend sitting next to me who uses Orange service was on Call. So how could there be a congestion? No reply. Whose problem it is? Orange.


Why do you send this sms telling you missed a call, instead why don’t you send that this person called you? No, thats the new service? Ya I got that, that its your new service, who is benifitted by this service? You are sir. No, I am not. First I am not getting call. Secondly to know who called me I spend on SMS. Anyways you are sending sms to customer that there was missed call. To be precise you also send information when was the call, they why can’t you send sms directly stating whose call did I miss? No sir, we cannot do that? Why? No reply.


Anyways I got fed up, so hung up the phone and started living with the service I was getting. Few months later I saw another Orange Scheme: Got a sms stating: Refill using HDFC before Nov 10 for over 330 and get additional 25 Rs. Talktime free. This will be credited to your account next Monday when you refill. I was due for refill so I went to HDFC Bank on Saturday 2nd October, 2004 and refilled for Rs 400. I had a balance of Rs 12.00 additional I got Rs 238 so the total was 250. I checked on Monday, the amount was same.


I checked on Tuesday, Wednessday and Thursday. I did not recieve any sms or credit of Rs 25 on my mobile. I had made calls of Rs 40 over the week. Friday I called Customer Care and told them the problem. Sir, Please hold on while I check the same. Sure. Sir, We have credited Rs 25 to your account on 6th October, 2004 No, I have checked I have not got any. Did you send any sms to confirm that Rs 25 has been credited to your account? No sir, we just update the amount. But I have not recieved any credit. I have been constantly checking my call time and the balance.


I am 100% sure Its not credited. Sir, I checked it that it has been credited. Ok in that case Can you tell me the amount for which I have made call since 2nd October, 2004 so that I can cross check. No Sir, we cannot give you that information. Why? No sir, we cannot? Ya, I got that but why can’t you give me that information? I own the phone and I am asking you to give me my own information to me? No, Sir we cannot give you that? I would like to talk to your supervisor. Regarding what sir? I need to know why can’t I get my call information? Sir, I told you, the same thing will be told to you by my supervisor. I still insist I need to speak to your supervisor. Hold on sir.


After sometime.... Sir, I have checked that Rs 25 has been credited to your account? But thats not what I asked now, I said I need to talk to your superior.. and I need to know my call information Sir we cannot give you that because we do not have that information. But I got that information from your Orange Shop when I went that few months ago. Sir, There is no such information with us.


Can you please put me to your supervisor. Hold on sir I ll check. Again gone for sometime Sir, what is that you would want to talk to my supervisor. I can help you with that. I just need to talk to your supervisor. Yes sir but what do you want to talk.


I need to know why can’t he give me proper information on my cell calls or confirmation that you have credited Rs 25. Sir I am telling you we did check that and it has been credtied. How do you know that I have recieved that. I have check the same on the software.


Can you give me the reference # or some Unique ID to that information. No sir there is no unique Id to that information How would I know you are telling truth? Sir, we sent you sms stating that your account has been credited with additional Rs 25 But you just said that you just credit the amount and that you do not send information/sms to confirm No sir, we do? I was really pissed of still I did not want to be rude to the lady as she was a customer support personell sitting and doing what supervisor is asking So again I asked for supervisor.


Sir what do you want to talk to him. I do not want to talk to you on anything, just put me to your supervisor. Sir, I cannot. Why can’t you? He is busy? He is busy doing what? and if he is busy how you have been getting information from him? Put me thru or tell me his name. No sir I cannot give you his name? What can you do tell me? You can’t help me with the problem I have. you can’t help me with the information I need? You can’t help me to speak to your supervisor. What can you do? Sir please hold on I ll check.


After sometime. Sir, I talked to my supervisor. He says you go to our nearest Orange Shop . What the heck? Why should I go there to get the information? I am not going there? See I am not a fool to spend 45 min talking to you and then to go to your shop spend another 2 hours there just for 25 Rs. Fine, you are no good of help. Just give me your supervisor name and location of your call center. Tell me why’s he not coming. I do not want to be rude to you and say something to you and spoil your day. I just need your supervisor name and why can’t he attend my call.


I guess this worked for her and she gave me the name of that Supervisor called ’’Suresh Bhatia’’ sits at ’’Lower Parel’’ location. Reason he cannot come was that he was ’’Busy’’. If he has some other work with which he was busy what is he doing at a Customer Care Center where he does not even have time to attend to Customer. I have made up my mind that I ll now break as many customers as I can who are using Orange.


The thing these people take advantage of are: 1. They want you to send sms to them to check who called you so that you spend and they earn. If they can send sms telling ’’You have a missed call’’ they can very well send who called you, if they say that we are providing new service.




  1. They would send you schemes which you find attractive and then you go for that. Many of us really do not have time to check whether what they promised, did we get that or not. So they make business there too.




  2. Finally people like me, if we call to check what happened, they will have information that they did it, but cannot share with you. When you call the Customer Support... they are busy and cannot attend your call. I would request you, that if you are using this Orange service.






Check for all your services and schemes and take them to task... and unless you are not the person who would make the mistake to learn, Take My suggestion. Subscribe to some other Service. But not Orange.
