earlier it was coming thro mail, now it started in mouthshut also...
this info about the creator of orkut is just a spam..
do u think any web site manager without doing ads on it or some sort of business can become the richesh man.. !!!
Even with placing ad also no one can get that much revenue to be even in richest 1000 people !!
Moreover, orkut has been bought or acquired by gmail.
thats why u get gmail accout and orkut accout linked.
but it doesnt mean that u can have orkut accout only if u have gmail.
many of my friends have their orkut thro yahoo and other sites...

Orkut does not place irritating ads or unwanted material.
just login, in ur homepage u will find ur friends list, ur community, upcoming birthdays of friends (which is very useful indeed !!!)
u can feel good seeing ur growing no. of friends and their photographic profile !!!
In fact, U can have an accout on orkut only if some existing member invites u..!!!
so in this way everyone at orkut is connected thro the other one by common chain of friends..
Moreover, view network enable u to see any one’s friends list as a tree of thumbnails.. really great..!!
if u r indian, click on any indian’s profile, and chances r high that he/she will be connected to u thro 5 or 6 friends..

The Shortcomings in orkut !
These r the points that I desire in orkut..
suppose u saw in ur scrapbook someone wrote u a scrap..
if u want to reply u have to first go in his profile , then click scrapbook , then write and submit..
quite a lengthy process as it involves so many page loads..
they sd give a shortcut there itself..
And why they removed ’’view network from communities ??’’
