The true south tamil nadu style of food

I am from the southern part of Tamil Nadu presently residing in Chennai I am fond or mad abt Barotta’s or Parotta’s, in my 5 years of stay in Chennai, I haven’t found a single restaurent or hotel which offers such a quality barotta like Oru Soru Restaurent. I loved the Barotta’s present in there. Also the other Non-Veg food and Dishes were also really good. Most of restaurents or Hotels I visited in Chennai, never have barotta’s in their menu list. Seems they feel it degrades their image of a biggy or a cozy restaurent.

Even if they have Barotta’s in their menu list, it’s soaked in oil or salty or real rough that u need a scissor to cut it off into pieces or they have this habit of asking us to order any sidish. Which means they dont need to dish out the free Kuruma or Masala as side dish. Bizz tactic it seems. But Ooru Soru is a class apart in this, there barotta’s is really good with coreect balance of chilly, oil and salt. Not to forget the Kuruma or masala they serve with the ordered set of barotta. The problem with them is the restaurent is so small and their waiter is a little impatient or furious if v keep on ordering more at around 11 pm in the night.

He HE. Make sure u go to their place at the earliest. But the waiter doesn’t show any emotions he silently serves all u ask even by that time. Nice chap. For those who wanna hav a taste of Oru Soru, juz try it once, they hav a Biriyani kindah dish in the name OORU SORU, that too is real spicy The location is in Mahalingapurum, Chennai, close to kodambakkam bridge, opposite to a petrol bunk present near to kodambakkam bridge. I wish they had a bigger restaurent and also have one very close to my residence.
