Well to be very honest I have never really been too fond of autobiographies and the only ones I have read are the ones recommended to me...But I had to get my hands on this one simply because this was the autobiography of one of my favorite authors..I have been reading sidney sheldon since the last 7 years I think and have read most of his novels more than one time...sidney sheldons last 2 novels have been let downs and so it was with great apprehension that I started reading this...so whats the verdict on the book???
well, to know that read on....

THEME
Well, as I have already mentioned earlier this book is an autobiography .Sheldon candidly talks about growing up in depression era chicago, his family and his mood swings later diagnosed as manic depression...He describes his journey through the pre WW II and post WW 2 Hollywood where he took many jobs ranging from a barker to a script reader to a writer to finally becoming a big independent producer...

Where the book scores
Well like all of Sheldons earlier novels this ones a page turner all right..His real life story is just as compelling...The anecdotes about 1940s Hollywood are interesting and he has included some choice quotes from frank Sinatra, Groucho Marx and even Marilyn Monroe....If you have read sidneys erlier works you would have noticed that maximum quotes have been used in othe novels as well in some context...I also came to know many other things about sidney sheldon which I didnt know..i guess thats for you to read and find out...
But, sadly the book drags at some places..i mean 40s Hollywood is an era alien to most young readers so well you at times feel detached from the proceedings...

The Verdict
If you are an ardent SHELDON fan like I am, its a must read....If you arent then sit with the book with minimum expectations and you will be satisfied....if not one of his best, its certainly better than his last two efforts after reading which one couldnt help but feel that the master storyteller was no longer the MASTER OF THE GAME.....
