- When I thought I should pen down my tips for Operation “SAVE THY FACE”, it started off with the regulars like Cleansing, Moisturizing, Sun protection, Hypoallergenic Make up, Good diet, Reasonable level of exercise….but then couldn’t bring myself to write the same stuff that other friends have already written about
And hence some other ideas, which I am sure, we all know, but just felt like writing anyway….
Face is the first thing about you that anyone notices, its like a Business card, that reflects a lot about the person you are……it’s the window to the person that’s YOU. A healthy complexion(doesn’t mean FAIR) and a bright smile can make a lovely impression on the opposite person………
So here goes……….
Just remember you are unique, there is none other like you in the whole universe(unless you have a Twin resembling you)! Your are one of God’s infinite permutation-combination of creations . Always be proud of the shape of your nose or the color of your skin………But these simple tips- call it lifestyle modification, call it a non-surgical facelift, call it anything- am sure will go a long way in Putting your best face forward and it costs nothing, except a modified outlook!
1. Faith in yourself- Believe that you ARE beautiful, no matter what people tell you, no matter how un-photogenic you are, no matter how many ad agencies reject your portfolios- just be undaunted by that. It pays well to even say this aloud to yourself several times a day “ Mirror Mirror on the wall- I’m the fairest of them all”
2. Reflect your inner joy – How many times have we read this- SMILE! It increases your face value! It sure does and there are no two things about it. Have you seen a toothless wrinkled granny smile? An adolescent in her braces with that metallic smile? A newborn baby smile? A mischievous toddler smile at his mom after he has been upto his mischief? How can a smiling face ever be anything but beautiful, I am yet to see a person who looks ugly while smiling. Weed out your negative emotions, let only the positive surface upto your face and light up in a smile.
3. Don’t ever compare – One cant have Preity Zinta’s dimples or Aishwarya’s eyes or Madhu Bala’s crooked smile . So why envy others, and crave for anything different that what we have been bestowed with? Make the most of what you have! Emphasize the positives and downplay the negatives . Zo Zimble!
4. Surround yourself- with people who love you for what you are, the inner you, not for your chiseled nose or your drop dead figure . Find a Boyfriend / Girlfriend who keeps saying you are the most beautiful / handsome person on Earth, who showers you with those Oodles of compliments, in addition to love, humour and caring. All this work better than any lotions or creams and they cost nothing .
5. De-Stress Meditate, go for long walks, blend yourself with Nature and its bounties, pick up some new hobbies, sing….yeah…even if no one wants to listen(that’s my favorite destressor-even if it causes stress to others, I can be pretty selfish sometimes), shopping(within reasonable limits), indulge in some madness at times, being a child all over again, splashing in rain water, chocolate smeared around your mouth. Don’t know if such stuff is censored on MS, but yes, a good sex life can also be a very leading factor to a glowing skin, for many other reasons apart from being a great de-stressor.
6. Lastly, love thyself, pamper thyself! You are the best . Remember if you don’t think you are beautiful, no one else will. In addition to all this, always remain humble and modest, down to earth, helping ever, hurting never, words soft and glance gentle….and the world will see a most beautiful face on you!
