One of the first things I notice on other women is their hair and I think everyone notices hair for one reason or another. It may be a great color, it may be because it has a nice style or heaven forbid it may be because it doesn’t look good. The last one we don’t want people to notice us for. We want positive attention.
Keeping your hair clean is most important. When washing your hair consider the type of hair you have. If it is dry, normal or oily. There are shampoos for all types of hair. If your hair is dry you will not want to wash it every day but every other day. The more frequently you wash it the more it will dry out so pick a shampoo that is right for your hair and don’t overdue the washing. If your hair is oily then of course you will need to wash it every day. The good news if you have oily hair is the older you get the more it will dry out.
A good conditioner after shampooing is great to keep your hair soft and from getting tangles especially if it is long.
If you have dandruff you will need a dandruff shampoo. Even a few flakes will be noticed. I was in a waiting room yesterday and was sitting behind a lady that had beautiful hair except for flakes of dandruff that you could easily notice. You can have flaky skin that isn’t dandruff and there are products for that too.
Keep your hair styled in a way that becomes your face.I usually keep the same style but now and then will experiment for a new look.
If you have gray hairs and that bothers you then by all means color your hair. I color mine simply because it makes me look and feel younger. There are many brands available and that are easy to use.Some will wash out after just a few times as they are just a rinse. Others last a couple of months. You may want one that washes out after a few times until you have decided on the exact shade that is right for you. I always try to buy the same shade but remember that shade will vary from one brand to another so if you can’t find your normal brand do a small test strip with another before doing your whole head.
Brushing your hair makes it shine. Never brush your hair wet as it will pull out a lot of hair. Comb it gently until it dries.
I just comb mine out then blow dry it. Even in the summer I use the dryer as I find this adds more body to my hair.
