When Should A Child's First Dental Visit Be?

A child’s first visit to the dentist is welcome as early as possible, so that the condition of the oral structures including the gum pads can be examined.

Experts, however, strongly recommend that it is advisable to have the first dental visit by the end of the child’s first year, so that the dental condition can be studied and any preventive or corrective measure can be initiated to prevent damage to teeth.

It is also a good time to develop good oral cleaning habits on part of the parents for the child. The child also has the opportunity to have a feel of the dental practitioner and dental clinic settings.
