Restaurant : Oye Shava br style="font-weight: bold;"Location: Church Streetbr style="font-weight: bold;".1 floor below Oye Amritsar.
After a gap of more than 2 months, we went out for dinner. We were very late as we had not planned to dine in some restaurant. Then we thought of going to some "Desi" cuisine as we were bored with continental food. We first entered into this restaurant Oye Amritsar. Its a roof top restaurant, we found the ambience good but was full, n we had to wait for a long time, so while climbing down the stairs we entered into this restaurant "Oye Shava" as it was also Punjabi hotel.
We din get corner place and sat somewhere in the middle :(.. We went through the menu card, the names are funny like "Rum Shum" , "Brandy Shandy".
We ordered some Punjabi drinks, Masala Chaas and Shikanjvi (lime juice). It was not tat great at all..I was not able to drink that Shikanjvi !
The starters we ordered was Masala Papad and some "Oye Shava" special. Some aloo stuffing was there. It was not at all good..
The Masala Papad was very good, very spicy with lot of masala.
Then coming to the main course :
We ordered Makki ki Roti, Pudina Paratha and some sukha bhendi gravy. The side dish had 1 complete bhendi and had no much masala and was not spicy at all..
We dint like the main course at all..The Pudina Paratha was very thick and it was very difficult to chew !The bill for two of us was around 700.. Not very expensive.. The service was good, but din like the ambience at all. They played some punjabi songs which was a kind of irritating!
Apart from Masala Papad we liked nothing.Just step out of the restaurant u will find a Panwala. The pan was very good..
As it was a first outing after we took the car, we went for a long drive after dinner..So it became one of the memorable evenings of our life.
