To start off with let me make it very clear, I am not an avid movie fan so I am pretty choosy abt what I watch and spend on the over expensive PVR.
Reason to Watch:-
I always wanted to watch this movie because it was coming from Dibankar Banerjee, who directed Khosla Ka Ghosla also, I cherish khosla ka ghosla the way it connects to u. Being a delhite this movie made me feel at home.
If you are from North of india or close to punjabi culture of Delhi and around, you will fall in love with this superchor.
Cast
The cast revolves around Abhay Deol, His thief friend and Paresh Rawal mostly. There is a bit of everything in this movie, love romance, action, drama but all as in real life so you connect to it very well, and no overacting. The only drawback I found was that 3 characters were played by paresh rawal, one of the characters should have been played by Bomban Irani, its not hat paresh did not do justice to all the 3 characters its just that u kinda see a face too much on the screen.
Police was typical delhi jats and the accent even the jokes or talks were authentic makes you feel at home. Neetu Chandra looked sweet innocent girl not of much an onscreen attraction but she fitted well in a simple rohini delhi girl. Not to forget the Sansani guy who makes the whole story witty;)
Plot
The plot of the movie rotates around Lucky his childhood dream to find his lady love and of course money. So he finds a shortcut if u cant get it or earn it, steal it.
Movie rotates around dark childhood of lucky his fathers extra marital affair, childhood love, poorness and humiliation. He is a big mouth but with smartness or in punjabi called as a jugaado;)
He becomes a famous thief as he grows up, his love life, passion for cars and working for an king of thieves boss who buys stuff from it. Lucky’s rebelous nature was most of the time cause of problem for him well and that what makes the story go forward.
Lucky gets cheated too in the movie by sweet spoken people but yes thats a very reality of life which is shown there, archana puran singh has no role to right a home about.
the fun part of movie is everybody wanting something from lucky, he making fool of special branch by calling local PCR van and the jat jokes, yah and the sansani guy - "yaar ye sansani khez kaun likhta hai ghar pe biwi poochti hai khana kaisa bana toh muh se nikalata hai sansanikhez"
Lucky asking police guy in plane "what if I run from here? and police replying "chinta na kar girega thaane mein hi" all this light hearted and witty humor makes u remember the movie.
all in all movie also has a dark side about super rich and thieves, the igonrance of people lack of security and want for more in todays lifestyle.
Movies music is good if you understand punjabi music, otherwise it might irritate you I liked it.
The movie well displays small happy moments of life with love and family drama. Movie is a family affair and no sex only love makes it good family watch.
All and all a very amazing movie do watch, and watch again. All I would say lucky is an inspiring thief and would fulfill your wishes for mercedes.
Paisa vasool movie. After the movie u will keep on reciting "chahiye tohda pyaar thoda pyaar chahiye" watch it to know why;)
