I think the whole notion of inviting filmstars for an Olympic torch relay is disgusting...
Olympics is an event where we celebrate man’s individualism.
The desire to be the best in the world, to stand on that
pedestal and look to the heavens as your national anthem
is played...
Those gymnasts, swimmers almost dedicate their
entire life to acheiving that one moment of fame..
and whether they win or lose is a matter of seconds
I could understand Aamir Khan being inivited.He was the one
to have had an Oscar Nomination in the Best Foreign Film Category
but what about other film stars like Bipasha Basu....
What are we celebrating...half baked filmi songs and remixes??
I think we are a nation seriously short of role models..We despise
our politicians, we stop and ponder twice before we reach out to the
police, lawyers...
The only people who get to be in the limelight are the people
of the mob and coterie culture..
In that sense, not inviting P.T Usha was the greatest sin..
She missed getting a Olympic medal by a fraction of a second
but she won for India a lot of medals in the Asian and
the Commonwealth games.She was probably the greatest
sports personality we ever had in a nation which cannot think
and act beyond cricket...
