I decided to watch this movie as I wanted to watch the Big B acting as a little boy. I watched the movie in the second week and I had got the reviews from a few friends. Most of the people gave a superlative review and so I went skeptically wondering if I too will like the movie or feel let down with the high expectation.
But, the superlative acting of Big B and the soothing music of Ilaiyaraja ensured that I did not feel let down. Vidya Balan too has done the role of a lifetime as the unwed mother who cares for her son knowing his condition and constantly living in the fear for his life. She goes thru her life as if he is any other child and lives with the ups and down. Abhishek was a right fit for his role.
Arundhati Nag as the grandma, bum was too good-the support she gives her daughter, the love for the grandson...overall great! Big B as Auro was so good that one had to search for the Big B-he was so much into the character. I think this is a role of a lifetime for him-even better than his role in Black. The director needs to be lauded for the matter of fact treatment to the Progeria affected child who is treated as a normal kid. The outlook of the school for the boy was also not sympathetic, but caring. I would surely not mind watching it all over again to see what I missed in the earlier viewing!
