I seriously wonder why Parthiban Kanavu has become the hit that it is.
Firstly there’s nothing sensational in the story.
Secondly, it’s not even remotely believable!
Let me elucidate.
This guy sees a girl and falls in love with her. It’s love at first sight. What did he fall for? The girl’s beauty, that is her looks.
Then he agrees to marry a girl thinking that girl is the girl he first saw.
He’s very happy, sitting beside her in a van on the way home. Suddenly he sees the girl he fell in love with , and realises he’s married the wrong girl and that his bride isn’t the girl he loved(though she looks IDENTICAL!!!)
Logically speaking, he should have then just been happy with this female he married, since what he fell for was beauty and this lady had it, being so identical to the other female.
Oh but no! Our hero won’t do that! He’ll pine for the female he fell in love with and will be mean to his wife.
What utter nonsense this is!!
Just because it’s a slightly decent movie compared with most other movies that find their way to the theatres nowadays, we can’t call it a good movie!
What’s happened to tamil fans and their taste? How could we even appreciate a movie that is so logically flawed and so unbelievable?
Just something to think about...because, I feel only if we expect more will the movie industry deliver more. If we’re content at this level, we’re not going to get more enjoyable, more entertaining, more enlightening movies!
