Yesturday I watched a movie i.e Pad Man in theatre.Talking about the movie, its an story of a guy named Lakshmikant Chauhan aka Lakshmi who lives in a small village which is situated in Madhya Pradesh.Lashmi is a mechanic by profession.In his family, he has a mother and two younger sisters.He gets married to a girl named Gaytri in the movie.Lakshmi is a very caring husband and also he is very fond of his wife Gaytri.So one day Gaytri went to a general store to buy sanitary pads but when she gets to know that the cost of sanitary napkins is quite high which is 55 rupees per pad.Also she realises that in her home she has two teenage sisters in law and a mother in law, so she didn’t purchase the sanitary pads as she considers it in an unnecessary expenditure as it will imbalance there household budget.So she refuses the use of sanitary pads.As I have told earlier Lashmi is very fond of her wife and he thinks that he has take care of his wife’s health.That’s why one day he himself makes sanitary pads for her wife.After making it he gives it to Gaytri.Gaytri uses the sanitary pads which was made by her husband but they don’t serve the purpose.So that’s why she refuses to use it again.Lakshmi tries to make sanitary napkins with some other means but her wife refuses it again.Then he takes this one step further as he goes to different womens & girls of his village so that they can try as well and gives there respective opinion.Naturally the topic is quite taboo in our society so no one likes this thing at all.Also one day he gets into trouble as he offers his sanitary napkins to a young girl who’s going through her life’s first periods.This incident gets him into big trouble as his mother, sisters and his wife were left in a shame.Later one more incident takes place in which Lakshmi uses his sanitary napkins on himself, the sanitary napkins with device which pumps red colour blood.That experiment fails miserably as his pants colour changes into red and the people around him gets so frightened by this as they assumes that the red colour is the colour of blood.After that incident the villagers gets very angry on Lashmi and they calls upon an panchayat in which Gaytri’s brother comes there so that they can take Gaytri back to their home.They says to the panchayat that their sister can’t live with a mad man like Lakshmi.After that Lakshmi asks her wife that whether she wants to leave him and go back to her parents house or not.Then she replies him by saying that, Even I told you earlier that living in a shame fulness is quite humiliating.Then Lakshmi lefts her wife and she went to her parents house.Also Lakshmi’s mother, sisters are not happy from him.Thats why he himself lefts his village and his family.But his passion of making sanitary pads doesn’t left him.So even outside of his village he tries to make sanitary pads by himself.He does lots of research on to this and at last he’s able to indigenously manufacture sanitary napkins at low cost which means one sanitary napkins cost is of 2 rupees.Now for usage of this pads he need a girl who can try it on.So coincidentally he meets with a girl named Pari.And Pari becomes his first client which uses her sanitary napkins and finds it very good.Then Pari along with Lakshmi takes his sanitary pads machine to some innovation competition so that others can see his invention as well.Lakshmi gets the special award in that event.Then Pari tells him that this type of machinery of his will easily by owned by some big company and he will make crores of rupees from it.But since Lakshmi wanted that his sanitary napkins should be used in every region of India and also he made it so that poor womens and girls can use it at low cost.That’s why he’s not happy from this proposal of her.Then Pari understands that Lakshmi is very golden hearted person and she also understood that Lashmi is not doing this thing for money, he’s doing it so that poor women and girls too can take care of their health and hygiene.And she joind forces with Lakshmi.So in this way they both together endorse this business.Because Pari is a women, she can talk to the womens and girls regading this issue and she takes this business in a bigger level.By virtue of this Lakshmi went to the USA because he’s called by the people over there to speak on this low cost sanitary pads.And at last Lakshmi gets his wife and family back again.Now his family and the villagers are all very proud of his achievement.
Talking about the performance, Akshay Kumar as Lakshmikant Chauhan has done exceptional job terms of playing his character.Radhika Apte as Gaytri and Sonam Kapoor as Pari has done decent job in the movie.
Talking about the music, the songs in the movie were quite good as majority of the songs were quite light hearted.In totality the music of the movie was quite good to listen.
Talking about the cinematography, the director R Balki has done exceptional job in terms of directing the movie.The screenplay was quite good.On the whole it was a good movie to watch.
