Padmavat could have been more powerful script.

Hi guys, I watched the movie padmavat which got released after a long controversy and protests.

For a start, I must say there was no substance behind those protests. Actually, this movie is made in such way that Rajput community would be proud of themselves.

Now about the movie, this movie is inspired from the epic Padmavat which was written by Malik Jaysi. The movie has been made on a lavish budget which is clearly seen from the luxurious sets. The movie was really too long for the storyline showcased in the movie.

One weird aspect of the movie was its very long first half. I was really frustrate while waiting for the interval. I think first half was a little less than 2 hours. That was really pathetic.

The movie has not utilized the epic storyline if original text. I felt that movie was more focused on the characters rather than story. Khilji has been portrayed as a monster which according to me was an exaggeration. Khilji was a cruel and cunning human being but he was never this corrupt as portrayed by the movie.

All actors have done a good job. Though, I felt Ranveer was trying too hard to act like an evil human being which made his act less believable. Most others have been perfectly fine. The script was not properly worked out or else this movie could have been bollywood’s own Bahubali to an extent. The slow pace coupled with a lengthy time of running, makes the movie boring. Though, it catches up some pace after second half.

You can go and watch this movie if like to watch period films. The movie is good enough for one watch.
