Padmaavat

Please rename this confusion of a movie to Bagwati. Some of the sets were nice. Some Depth shots were nice. Bansali cut many corners especially during war scenes. Instead of showing infantries fighting help shows dust. Probably saved money on cgi. Everybody speaks like a Mumbaikar and looks like a Maharashtrian. Shahid continues to be a baccha with a fake beard and a high pitched voice who mumbles his way through hoods dialogues and says ?? (marathi)instead of ?? (hindi) throughout the movie. He’’s so skinny it’’s obvious his sword and shield are plastic. In beginning of second half Dipika Padukone says half her sentence in ????? and she cannot lose her Mumbaiyya accent. Aditi Rao Hydari is miles prettier than Padukone. She should have been the lead. Raza Murad recites his lines from a teleprompt like a robot without any expressions while trying to mimic Gabbar. Fail. Ranveer Singh plays a very good spoilt rich brat on weed. Do they even bother to know that blood is very itchy and hence it shouldn’’t be self smeared on one’’s skin prior to battle ? Blood is not war paint. Sword fighting scenes are soooo staged. They patiently wait for the ’’star’’ to turn and position his sword and supporting staff make sure they carefully only hit the already positioned sword. Certain overpaid actors appear to have performed well only because the rest of the cast are so bad in their respective performances.
