STORY, SCRIPT, DIALOG, DIRECTION, ACTOR, ACTRESS SAB KUCH ACHA HAI, AND FIRST TIME A DIECTOR TRIED TO SHOW WHATS HAPPENING IN FILIM FIELD AND IN MEDIAS.

Performance wise, Konkana Sen is first rate, as you would expect her to be. After her brilliant performances in ’’Mr. and Mrs. Iyer’’, and ’’Amu’’, this is one more feather in her cap. Sandhya Mridul was impressive in ’’Saathiya’’, and here also, she impresses, with her fiery tongue and temper. Boman Irani is excellent, as the editor who must do what he must, personal feelings and morals notwithstanding. Tara Sharma is competent, and carries herself off well enough. Atul Kulkarni and Kurush Deboo leave their mark, in short cameo roles.

The music is also good, and is deftly woven into the plot. Although there are no love duets, and the typical Hindi music is missing, the music contributes to the story. Lata Mangeshkar?s ?Kitne Ajeeb? is a winner all the way. The item number ?kuon ma doob jaon? is very catchy.

An excellent film, though one feels that the director is a little biased, as he shows all the characters in shades of black only, and all of them have some skeletons in their cupboards. There must be all types, as far as celebrities are concerned, as there are in all walks of life.

The director could have added a little more perspective to his film. But his portrayal of the characters, and his excellent casting, add to the value of the film. Even the small talk by the chauffeurs of these bigwigs, is so true to life, and is uproarious. Two dialogues, towards the end of the film stand out; One of the party hoppers drawls ’’There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics and in celebrity life’’ and Madhavi?s final uttering ’’For me, the party?s over’’. How the film industry reacts, remains to be seen. Still, no complaints. Good show, Madhur.
