The song perfectly fits the current state of affairs, even though it doesnt belong to the movie ’Paheli’!!
What surprised me was the fact that a classic movie like Black was overlooked
and a stupid folk tale was chosen to represent India at the Oscars!!
Lets first look at the selection committee:: lets see whether they are credible enough to decide the nomination!!
(Well, its the same level of ’qualified’ federation which recommended ’Jeans’ for Oscar in 1998!!)

Famous for his latest controversial movie ’’Sins’’ - has gotten into a habit of committing sins!!.. I wonder how can somebody like him be made the acting chairperson of the Film Federation of India!!
What credibility has he got to judge a movie ? Well, I have seen his ’Ek Baar Phir’’ and would rather not talk about that..!!
Lets look at his past --- Sins, Reporter, Sach etc....None of these movies are good
enough to even talk about!!

The Greaat Great Mr.. Harmesh! Man who is known for Oscar-standard-movies like Nagina, Patthar aur Payal and Ankhiyon se Goli Maare!!
Heard of these ’great/Almost-Oscar-Category movies??
Do we expect him to judge other’s aesthetics, a quality which he himself profusely lacks?
I wouldn’t have been surprised if a dumb movie like ’’Sukh’’ (Go-vinda starrer.not sure how many of us have heard the name!!)..would have made it to the Oscar!!
Well, . the other films in fray were: Iqbal, Black, Page 3 and Mangal Pandey...
All of them had an original compelling story and a great potential to make it to Oscars (especially Black).
How could Paheli compare to Black??
Be it originality of the script (for those who have ’heard’ that Black is a copy of ’’The Miracle Worker’’ - see it for yourself and then decide!!! Only god can save them who think that Black was a copycat of Miracle worker..!!’’)...
On being asked over the choice of Paheli, Pandeyji said
’’We have to be sure the movie representing India at the Oscars must have cinematic excellence, outstanding sound, outstanding music and truly represent the area it comes from’’
Arrey Pandeyji!!..Lets leave the cinematic excellence and outstanding sound/music aside!. You and Harmesh aren’t the best judge for excellence...
You guys don’t even know the meaning of these terms...!! Why even talk about it?
What surprised me most is the last statement [...’’and truly represent the area it comes from’’] -- the fact that India’s-nomination for Oscar has to represent the rural side of India?? i.e. Indian villages
(remember Lagaan was last year’s nomination, although fully well-deserved!)
Are we selling a rural picture of India, just because it confirms to foreigner’s view of us??
Is Oscar nomination a part of promoting Indian tourism???
Pandeyji!!..Stop this!! It’s time for you guys to clean your act and rethink of the nomination.
One thing for sure is that Paheli won’t be able to make it to the top 5 and we all will sing

In spite of making so many movies every year, its a shame that Bollywood hasn’t found its place in the Oscars..!
