A Joureny Evocative of Royal Past of Rajasthan

In India, train ride in the lap of luxury has come a long way since the Introduction of venerable Palace on Wheels(https://palacesonwheels.co.uk) chugging along Rajasthan way back in 1982. Palace on wheels takes the guest on a whirlwind ride across most royal destinations in the “land of Maharajahs” Rajasthan. Palace on wheels is an endeavor to recreate the pageantry and pampering of the erstwhile princes of Rajasthan as they travelled to meet the who’s who of the country in Colonial India.

Each cabin of the Palace on Wheels is named after former princely states of Rajputana. Laden with the lifestyle, culture and myriad colors of a bygone era, each of the 14 deluxe cabins of the Palaces on Wheels will transport into a different time and era. The quaint décor of the cabins are suffused with the motif of the princely state after which each cabin is named. Each cabin is a walking gallery of grandeur and enchanting mélange of colors. Elegant furnishings and rich tapestries add to the romance and adventure of this luxury train tour. Facilities such as attached bathrooms, TV, intercom and channel music and there is a personal attendant(Khidmatgar) appointed for each cabin.

During this 7 nights and 8 days ethereal journey, myriad colors of Rajasthan will paint a fascinating canvas on your mind. This whirlwind voyage traverses the course of destinations such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur and Bharatpur. Sprinkled across these meticulously selected destinations is an array of resplendent fortresses, sparkling palaces, undulating sand dunes of Thar Desert and amazing concoction of colors and culture.

Not just the journey, itinerary and facilities, but a gourmet dining experience is also in store as you traverse the course of this regal odyssey. Two tastefully appointed restaurants on board ensure that your taste buds are not disappointed. Although the variety is not at par of a luxury hotel, decent variety of palatable food from around the world are served here for your platter. Cuisines include Indian, Chinese, Continental and Thai cuisines. But the pick of the dining experience is the local and authentic cuisine of Rajasthan.

Watch the landscape meander by through the window and soak up the myriad colors od the royal state of Rajasthan. You will be confounded at the sheer diversity of this land of Maharajahs. Yet this is the most charming part of your journey too. A ride on board the train promises to be an unforgettable experience.
