Having read almost all the reviews on Palio I finally made up my mind to go in for Palio. Yesterday was the D-Day and now I am a proud owner of Palio 1.2 (Envy J) ELX (Glacier White).
Just a small comparison here against the competing brands…(I couldn’t include Santro here since I even my wildest dreams cannot compare Santro with Palio)
Swift
– Advantage MARUTHI
– Good resale value (s it has to be since you can see guys selling this car within 6 months of buy – chk classified)
– Good front space but completely fails in rear
– Mileage – 14 kmp (reality is 12 -13)
– Cost - Swift VXi Rs.430210 (Chennai); intermediate model
– Boot space (I am still searching - can anybody tell find it out for me)
– Built quality (miles to go)
– Average interiors
– Value for money – just the brand and service network
Getz
– As usual Korean attitude
– Priced like private jet – but nothing on the ground
– Cost - not worth it
– Decent Space
– Mileage 14 kmp with ac
– Ride quality - cool
– Good Build quality (fine)
– Cost GLS 4, 85, 992: intermediate model
– Good boot space
– Value for money – good option to buy but as a second hand car
Here comes PALIO NV (ENVY ;-)
Space spacey spaces
Build quality (Similar to Aruj Tank)
Mileage 14 kmp (standard driving skill) with ac
Boot space again space spacey spaces
Ride quality key thing to mention so bear with me – on slow speed it feels like sailing on a clam water – on start it moves like an elephant (very steady with power) – on highways it cruises (tried in ECR and NH 47 mind blowing) – on typical country road I felt like passing through a thick cloud
ELX 3.7 lakhs on road –discount flat 50k off + 35K corporate discount – purchased this car not just because of the discount but it’s my dream possession – previous to Palio I own a Matiz again a classic car to drive.
Point to be noted both the cars were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Car Designer of the Century - 1999 (chk - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgetto_Giugiaro)
