Well I guess its time to write about my Palio 1.2 ELPS. bought in feb 2002 ...has completed four years. odometer reads 61000 kms...so how has been my experience with the car...overall...its been great...the much talked about fuel efficiency has been consistantly above 11...(lowest 11 ...highest 15)...average 11.7 kmpl. NOT BAD....i dint expect more from this heavy piece of machinery...
Driving the palio has been a pleasure as always..except the clutch and accelerator can be a pain in leg if u drive long hours as a stretch...but apart from that...
changed tyre just after 46000 KM (could have been better if I wudnt have used the spare tyre after 30000 kms for almost 4-5 k Kms.).
some noises coming from engine side (alternator, compressor and idling belts) got them replaced.
Air con has been working without a refill all along.
had to change the radiator motor ...because it failed.
I guess apart from these issues the car has been working fine ...and I hope it would keep on doing so for another 30-40k kms.
Fiat service hasnt been that bad, may be I have been lucky enough not to have a major problem with the car...but small repairs and services have been satisfactory. Dealers in delhi I have used are vivek automobiles, sanmati and samyak. Overall I have no complaints.
SO WHAT WOULD BE MY NEXT CAR- hmm....thought abt getz...but compared to palio its overpriced...(why pay more for what u can get at less)....Ford fiesta....(naahhhhhh....)...
Opel Corsa (...its a small car after all)...maruti swift (dont even talk abt it...its ugly...yuck)....
How abt Palio 1.6 sport....well that sounds good...but I would wait and watch how fiat tata relationship develops in india.
