The Palio is one of the most good looking cars (in the small / midsize car segment) from outside as well inside. i.e it has all the goodies a midsize luxury car can offer. The space inside is ample and when compared to a Maruti Zen or an Alto, which are priced the same, you feel the difference immediately. Only the Indica comes close in terms of space inside. Boot space is also plenty. The in-cabin noise and vibrations are non-existent making it a very comfortable car for long journeys as well as stop-go-stop city traffic. The interiors are of high quality (when compared to other small cars) Performance is better than most except for the fuel efficiency, where Maruti Zen, Alto score over it. The AC is good and does its job very efficiently and quietly. But in terms of overall satisfaction, ownership experience, no other car can beat it. It remains to be seen how after sales service is dealt with by Fiat. Because that has been the minus point for Fiat with its earlier models.
The optional accessories are also worth a try. The GTX and Sport Models come with alloy wheels, but if you wish to get alloys for other variants, they are priced at approx. Rs.18, 000/- for a set of five wheels.
Pity the after sales service has been bad and that has put a lot of prospective buyers off. It is a really fantastic car, but let down by the service. With Tata tying up with Fiat, I hope the same improves.
