You see all the beaches of Goa and youll say, Palolem is the best. Ive been to Goa twice, the first trip being 3 years back. That time I traveled to North goa and this time tried the mopre laid back south Goa.
Me and my wife made Palolem beach as my base and visited Agonda, Patnem, Galjibag and Rajbag beaches. To be true, Palolem with its blue waters and cresent shaped beach which is palm-fringed is the the best one. You are only neck deep even when you go 100 meters inside the beach. The butterfly island and spotting the dolphins is a must on the Palolem beach.
There are other nearby attractions as well such as Cabo De Rama, Cotigao wildlife sanctuary, a man-made lake and Canacona village. All these places add up to makes Palolem a spicy destination. The Palolem market is small and you get many things that you may need while on the beach such as swimming costumes, suncreens, surf boats and other daily use items. THere are many restaurants where you can try Goan, India, Mexican and Italian food which is usually very good in quality.
Palolem has many staying options as well. We stayed at the Om Sai guest house and it was a wonderful stay. The owner, Mr. Gaurav was helpful and understood our needs. The rooms are big and airy. We chose the AC room but frankly, it wouldnt have made a difference as it was quite cool and we only returned during late evenings to the room.
