Goa-Where more is less...the time just breezes past you and the days .....and you think you just landed here!!!!!!
I visited Goa in December 2005 with my family (my husband and my one year old). we spent a total of 5 days there and still felt we needed more. The experience was just amazing more so because we were at the helm of fun and excitement-The TITOs -one of Goas most happening spots on the Baga Beach. The action does not seem to stop here. the crowd, the food, the music takes your breath away and you are only left wondering "its too good to be true". My one year old daughter, it seemed, wanted to lap up all the fun. soaked her feet in the wet sand, took a splash in the sea with Daddy Cool and enjoyed the fresh drinks on the beach
our normal day would begin with all three of us on our way to the beach. taking a dip in the sea and then having some nice breakfast at the beachside, followed by numerous trips to the water and then enjoying the seaside lunch. Nights used to be the most happening what with celebrities like Ravi Shastri and Nikhil Chinappa being the center of attraction of Christmas Extravaganza.
The value in visiting Goa during Christmas and New Year time is that you get the best of Goan climate and spectacular pageantry. you can have the experience of a life time on its beaches, doing some paragliding and motorboating and still look for some touch of history in its small towns, age old forts and churches... The food is great with huge varieties of sea food and local drinks including fenny.
we stayed in a hotel very close to the Baga beach and the best part was that we could always rent a motorbike for the day for our to and fro journeys and the local sightseeing and our trips to other beaches like Anjuna and Calangute. There are some very good markets if you are looking to buy some cool hippie outfits and stylish jewellery.
I would suggest all travel freaks to mark Goa in their coveted destination lists ..if its not there already that is!!! travel light, get rid of all the fancy gadgets. one nice and handy camera should be enough to capture great moments and put your dancing shoes on....The Sun, Sand and the Rhythm of the Soul.
