Panasonic Split AC (energy rating 3Star rating)

I recently purchased Panasonic Split AC from a local dealer in Kolkata, during an ongoing sale. The display unit at the shop looked nice when compared with other best selling brands.

The sales person mentioned that Panasonic is offering Cu-coils for attaching the outdoor with the indoor unit, where as other major brands within same range and energy rating is offering aluminium coil, which cannot be repaired, if damaged. The cost of such repairs comes to around 8--10 K , so Panasonic split AC - 3Star rating is worth buying!

So, why wouldn’t I recommend this product?

REASON :PANASONIC SPLIT AC 3Star doesn’t have a temperature display on the Wall mounted unit. Surprisingly, the remote also doesn’t have a back-lit or fluorescence display.  Result, at night with all lights off you are not sure at what temperature is the AC running. Now, I have to go to bed with a torch, just in case I would like to know at what temperature is the AC running.

I wonder, how come an innovative company like PANASONIC ignore such a basic feature, which should be by default there. A customer need not check out or even ask for such BASIC features. Companies are spending like hell on product innovation just to take the customers experience to the next level, not too sure what’s PANASONIC thought process.

I felt like, I bought a car without a steering! After spending of over 4K on installation and outside temp. near 40 degrees, now, nothing can be done.

Result : I’m unhappy and feel cheated.
