Size does matter.

Review : I got this phone for Christmas, 2003. I liked it when I saw it in the shop, commented to my mum, and was grateful when I received it on Christmas day, and even more so when I realised just how small the gd55 really is. The thing is, I don’t want a phone for games, photos, music, etc; I want a phone, not a PDA. My idea of a phone is for calling, texting and looking cool; the gd55 does exactly that. It is good how phones are advancing to include cameras, mp3 players, etc, but that really doesn’t interest me at the moment, I have a digital camera, mp3 player, and I f I really want to play games, I’ll wait ’til I get home and play on my pc or playstation 2. And it holds awesome ’street credit’, too. It is almost guaranteed that you will recieve more compliments with this phone than with a colour phone costing up to £100 more, simply because it is so small. The phone fits into almost any pocket, or sometimes even in wallets. The loudspeaker is good. You’ll certainly know when this beauty is ringing, and in calls, the reception is clear and the speaking loud. For some; too loud, but this is no problem as the volume can be altered. The keys may be small, but they’re certainly easy to use, and with a little practice your fingers will be wizzing round the keypad writing txts quicker than on any previous phones. And in case you’re worried, it DOES have predictive text, and a very logical one at that. It has polyphonic ringtones, some of which sound great, and you can personlise your intro animation and screen to a certain extent, including date and time. and a trendy picture. One minus factor is that so far, I haven’t been successful in finding downloadable tones and pics, but this doesn’t hamper my use of the phone at all. Other features include an easy to use WAP browser, and a built in hands free. It has one game, but this is a bit sorry, although this shouldn’t put you off the phone. This is the first panasonic mobile I’ve had, and I’m quite impressed with the well thought out shape, design, and structure of the phone, and I will certainly look to this brand in future with eager eyes.
