It knocks the Nokias off. Sony looks phoney beside it. Ericsson
will suffer from dejection. Panasonic GD 93 is a little dynamite
in itself. I have been having it for the past 6 months and it
suits me just fine.
It is so amazingly light weight that the first time you pick it
up, your mind will refuse to believe that what you have in your
palm is a cell phone! Another advantage is the nice and large
display, a welcome break from the 3-4 line displays on Nokia
and its ilk.
Its Lithium ion battery is a revelation. Talk time and standby
time leave nothing to be asked for. The keys are all well
positioned. Another big feature is the speaker facility. I have
not seen this feature on any other handset. There is a small
speaker at the back of the set, which is a boon when you want
others in a room to hear somebody on the phone.
The polyphonic tunes are good and so is the colour of the set.
One draw-back is that it has a long antenna jutting out, which
is an eye-sore as well as a nuisance especially if one keeps it
in ones pocket. Secondly, I have not figured out how to use the
voice dialling facility in this. I know that the option exists,
but I have not been successful in finding out how it is done.
Lastly, it does not have any built-in games, which will be a
serious let down because the younger customers will certainly
tend to walk away from this model the moment they realise this.
Finally, considering the price you pay versus the features you
get, there is hardly any competition for this little thing of
beauty.
