I had purchased a Panasonic Lumix camera(am not sure if it is this particular model, but there are too many models to choose from some without pics) with 14mp, touchscreen controls and non-protruding lens during a visit to Dubai last year because I thought it was the latest technology and with touch screen would be easy to use, like a mobile.
The touch screen started developing blank spots within a couple of months of usage(no rough usage; normal usage by an adult). that was changed by the company during the warranty period(just before the end of the warranty period); again within a couple of months(after the warranty expired and the replacement part doesnt come with any warranty) the NEW touchscreen has ALSO started developing blank spots. It is very much a recurring manufacturing defect and the camera should be replaced by the manufacturer since it is an inherent, recurring fault in the product itself.
Panasonic has FLATLY REFUSED to change it.
The picture quality is also not as good as the Canon camera that my sister got during the same visit(which is working well and without any problems).
I dont see the point in spending money to replace the touchscreen again since it doesnt last beyond a couple of months; and the camera is quite useless without the screen.
I would suggest people buying panasonic products to look at products from other companies. This company doesnt understand the technology it sells and does not support its own failures.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I wont be fooled a 2nd time. I would NEVER consider buying another panasonic product for as long as I live. they can get all the kapoors and padukones to be their brand ambassadors and pay them crores to sell the products, but so long as they cannot keep the customer on the street happy, they will not succeed in a competitive market like India. I can well afford to throw this product into a dustbin and buy another product from another company, but can the company afford to lose a customer like me?
