I bought a Panasonic Music System SA-VK480 around four years back. All of a sudden the system stopped functioning in June 2015. On giving it to Panasonic Service Centre vide my request no. R220615138282 I was informed that the product has since been discontinued and the spares are not available for this product. Though the service centre has placed an order for the spares but it is 95% doubtful of the its availability. So my music system is broken now and irreparable. This peaks volume of the useful product life of Panasonic products.
So any one buying a Panasonic product should be forewarned that if his product gets discontinued there is little chance of its repair. I don’t know the policy of Panasonic wrt stocking spares of discontinued products.
