Panchatantra is considered to be one of the oldest collections of Indian fables still doing tremendously well in the 21 st century. These fable tales perhaps has been written around in 200 B.C. by the great Indian Scholar, Pandit Vishnu Sharma. The word " Panchatantra" literally means " The five books" of "social conduct". These animal fables within the five books of a frame story collectively constitute the "Nitishastra" or "scriptures on the wise conduct of life, not for the ascetic but for the person in the world". There are even other well known internationallyrics written fables or Indian origin Internationally acclaimed.Panchatantra have acquired a distinct place for itself both internatonally and in India despite of Indian origin.
