The panic Room

My husband and I went to the theaters to watch this movie. I have seen the previews on TV, and to me they looked like it was going to be a very thrilling movie. I love Jodi Foster, especially when she was in the movie “Silence of the Lamb”.

What is a Panic room?

The room was built in the mater bedroom. It was built with metal that was unbreakable from the outside and inside. The room was full of TV cameras that showed the whole inside and outside of the home. The panic room was solid, and the door was like that of an elevator door. The only way you could stop the door from closing fast was if you stuck something in its way. So the room was safe for you’re to hide if you were in any type of trouble.

Plot

The movie is about a young divorced woman and her daughter who just moved into an old home, but they loved the house cause of the panic room, and elevator that was inside it. They felt safe, and didn’t need to worry, but to their surprise that wasn’t the case.

Three men break into the house; they were not expecting anyone to be living in the home yet. They knew that someone had bought the house, but didn’t know they moved in already. They wanted to break in the house and get to the panic room. They believed that inside the panic room there was a safe built in it, and inside that safe was millions of dollars worth of stocks and bonds. They wanted to rob the safe and be rich. But when the realized they were not alone one of the men wanted to end the task and leave, but the other two greedy men said NO they had to finish the job. Well while they were looking around Jodie Foster who plays (Meg) woke up. She had seen in the panic room’s cameras that there were three men in her home. She ran to her daughter Sarah and woke her up and they ran to the panic room before the three men could reach them.

Once in the panic room they felt safe. They had problems though. Meg forgot to fix the phone line that was in the room. This line was different then the main phone line, so she wasn’t able to call for help now. They didn’t know what the three men wanted, but all they knew was they didn’t want to open the door to the panic room. When the men realized they were not coming out of the room they then decided to find a way that would make them come out. They tried many different things, but they just didn’t work. There was one big problem facing Meg and Sarah, and that was her daughter-needed shots for her diabetes. She knew that sooner or later she would have to leave the room and get the medicine her daughter needed before she slipped into coma.

While they were in the room Meg figured out a way to hook up the phone line that was in the panic room. The three men figured out what she was doing and headed to the basement to cut the phone line that went to that room, but before they could cut the line Meg had time to call her Ex husband. She wasn’t able to get everything she wanted to say to him before she was cut off, but she was hoping that he would understand what she was trying to say and come and save her.

So with Sarah needing medicine, and no phone in the room, things didn’t look so great for Sarah and her mother Meg. The three men were getting very angry, and things started to heat up. I mean literally heat up!

I don’t want to tell you everything that happened in the movie cause that would just ruin it all. I will say that this movie was full of action and thrills. Jodie Foster done another outstanding job in her role, she was lucky to get this role because she wasn’t the first choice. In fact Nicole Kidman was the one who should have had the role, but she got hurt when she was filming Molian Rouge. So Jodie took the role.

This movie is also full of suspense, and in some emotional moments I found myself crying. I guess I could say the ending turned out different then what I suspected, but it was a good twist. You don’t always need to figure things out. The directing, and special affects were awesome! I would of only changed one thing about this movie. I would have had a different person be Jodie’s daughter, or else made the girl who did play Sarah look more like she was a girl and NOT a boy! I was confessed at first cause I mistake the girl for a boy.

So rent this movie when it comes out on DVD or VHS, or go to the movies and see it NOW!
