++The Pankh Puzzle ++

“Its between me and myself, I am my own actor and my own audience”……ewww…how apt!! Mr Maradona Rebello…because it was actually just you and me and 300 empty seats mocking at us. Yeah right!! I did end up in FDFS of Pankh!! Call it budding director’s (yours truly) exuberance, trying to explore a storyline which appeared extremely promising.

For preliminaries, never touch base with something which you simply can’t handle. A sensitive issue like child prodigy being casted in an opposite gender and confused sexuality , needs a subtle, strong and very hard hitting treatment. Pankh does not even barely try to fit into the same league. The whole script appears like a huge mockery. I realize that it’s a matter of confusion, but even confusion needs some sort of clarity and a flow to it. It appears like bits and pieces have been stitched together. Jerry/kusum and Lilette sequences are appearing in semblance, till suddenly Salim aka Amit Purohit appears. Before we can sort out the relevance, therein comes in more truckload of perplexity in form of Achala, Sanjeeda and etcs. In case if you are wondering whats about Bipasha? I have the same query What about her?? Maybe Rocky S felt this was a great way of launching his designs. OR they jointly felt that “Ägar Ramp show ke paise mein agar poori film ban sake to koi yeh kyu le woh na le”. But still there could have at least been some sense to it!!!

I wonder if there was a cinematographer or they simply tied the camera with a balloon; as it kept floating in 70% of the film. Cutting into extreme close-up without reason or probably there was a reason they wanted us to count the actor’s nose Hair. Budgets have been hugely saved from every bit possible: Editing is another missing element of the movie. Performances being the other one. If Maradona was something they got after 250 people audition, I really have no words for the casting director’s choice. The Dialogues are in bad taste, and in case if they were meant to tug the heart strings, blah!!! I laughed and rolled at few of them, the case being when I was still trying to solve the jigsaw of Pankh.

Credits did roll about a Director Sudipto, but was there any?? Enlightment anyone??

For any other intricacies related to the movie, please bear the risk on your own!!
