Pantaloons is one of the major clothing brands in the Delhi NCR with multiple outlets. I have myself purchased a lot of apparels from this brand. A good stop for quality products in the past, Pantaloons however, has definitely seen a dip in the quality of their products whereas the prices of the products remain unchanged.
Just last month, I bought a combo of a T-shirt and a formal shirt at around INR 1500. The store offered a guarantee period of six months on piling and color fading issues. The fabric was comfortable, however, the color of the fabric of the shirt especially started to fade from the second month onwards. I took the shirt back to the store and asked for the refund. However, the employee denied that as he said that I must have wore the shirt a number of times! That logic was simply beyond being a rational one! Additionally, the t-shirt started to look completely worn out only after three months. The fabric started to show the signs of piling and the seam-lines at the shoulders began to wither.
Adding to that, Pantaloons now does not have a wide variety of apparels in their stores. Almost all of the products look outdated and even the existing products have very limited variety. In comparison to that, the brands like Adidas, Zara and Versace have a much wider range of apparels. Earlier, Pantaloons would offer a good discount based on the card system. Now, they have stopped this practice and they instead offer points. You can only redeem those payback points at the Pantaloons store by purchasing one of their products.
In addition to this, their cashback scheme rarely pays you cash back. In fact, one of my friends recently bought herself a pullover from a Pantaloons store during the 25th Dec sale and she is still waiting for her cashback.
Overall, Pantaloons has to seriously look-into the matters mentioned above. Their collection is just about average and the prices are astronomical. Even the quality of the products should be much better than what they are right now.
