I have seen most reviews here are saying they have got benefit of coconut oil application, but I am sorry to say that I had a completely different experience. I had been using oil since a very young age and from the age of 15 onwards I had lot of pimple problems on my face and upper back. I used to think that it was due to teenage years problem and just applied some home remedies and creams and all that. But after I crossed the age of 20, I started getting worried, because still yet the pimples were not becoming less.
So finally I consulted one renowned skin doctor in Bangalore. One the first things she told me is to stop putting oil in my scalp, because the skin is already oily and producing enough oil. I followed her advise religiously for 3 months and I can tell that atleast 70% of the acne is gone. But old habits die hard, so in between I did put oil again for one day and the very next day I had a fresh batch of pimples on the forehead. I am now completely believing that one of the major reasons for my pimples has been the over oiling that I have done.
My mom does not agree with me, but then again my Skin does.
