What a great album by Coldplay. These are the ratings and feelings after listening to this album so many times.
Ratings and Feelings
Dont Panic - 4/5
What an opener. Great lyrics and music. But is the world beautiful anymore?
The song has a great refrain and catchy music that makes you beg for more; a very nice opening song.
Shiver - 3/5
There is a catchy guitar hook in this song that is used sufficiently sparingly that I kept hoping to hear it again.
Gets boring on repetitive listening.
Spies - 3/5
Gets too noisy, although the guitar tune is cool
Sparks - 4/5
The song is bluesy and melancholy. People say its greatest ColdPlay song ever!
I love the music at the end, when he says La...La..
Yellow - 5/5
Just stunning! Honest, Romantic song!
The often surreal feeling we sometimes have when we are so in love that we are unable to describe the
feelings of love!
Great guitar riff and drums! Soulfully sung too!
Trouble - 4/5
Beautiful Piano Ballad. Love the Piano tune at the begining and in the middle. So Haunting!
Parachute - 4/5
Just 40 seconds! You can feel the fingers flow across the acoustic guitar!
High Speed - 4/5
I luv the Bass tune (done by a synthesizer??) that goes throught the song! More of a progressive track!
The lyrics seem to refer to the pace of our lives and our often frequent feeling that we are not in control of how fast we slide down the slippery slope.
We Never Change - 4/5
The lyrics of this song express a desire to live simply. "I wanna live where the sun comes out" expresses to me the desire to live in the country, assuming that either tall buildings or pollution obscures the sun in a large city. Its too slow but the Guitars are back for that its a 4!
Everythings Not Lost - 5/5
Wow! What lyrics! So uplifting and assuring!
"When I count my demons! Saw there was 1 for evry day!
With the good ones on my shoulders, I drove the other ones away!"
Love the guitar tune after the initial lyric. So freaking awesome. This song also contains marvellous blues elements and provides the album with a flavour quite different from the remainder of the music in the album.
The ending is sung so soulfully.
"Oh Oh Yeah...Everythings not lost!"
All in all. An awesome album and a must buy who feel music.
