I have just returned from two weeks holiday booked with Thompson Holidays (UK). We were informed the hotel was rated at 2 plus star. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and no extract fan - the smell from the drains made you vomit.
Empty bottles lay in the gardens for the whole of the two weeks my partner and I stayed. Towels were provided by the hotel but they were dirty, smelled and on one ocassion was fuill of holes. The bed sheets were discoloured and they too smelled. The room was full of insects, every night the room was sprayed before we left for dinner - I dont know what was worse all the insects or the smell of the repellant we bought. The rooms were furnished with the oldest broken furniture I have ever seen.
Breakfast was disgusting, tasteless and if you were unfortunate to miss place your breakfast voucher - tough luck no duplicate is forthcoming, as I was told - how do we know you have not used it already???????? such trust! Some rooms are privately owned and at weekend the owners park their vehicles along the walkway blocking the natural light to the rooms, and worse still the drivers sleep in these vehicles often with music playing late into the night. Dont even think of complaining the senior management is aggressive and rude! On a nicer note my sincere thanks to Basil who I thought was a rose amongst many thorns a nicer more pleasant man you couldnt hope to find. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WOULD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.
